Stationmaster Cat Saves Japanese Railroad | Steve Dale's Pet World

By Steve Dale, Thursday at 8:10 pm

Cat is the answer....if your business struggling. Financial advisers, who needs them? A cat, that's it. It worked in Japan. In 2007, Japan?s financially beleaguered Wakayama Railroad was on the verge of closing its Kishi Station. But after a railroad executive adopted a local stray, named Tama the calico cat became something of a local celebrity. Responsibility soon followed, and she was officially appointed station master. Her job, when she?s not napping, is to greet passengers.?Curiosity?doesn't exactly kill the cat, it attracts tourists. And now Tama is a local celebrity. ?And Tama is credited with saving the railroad, as featured by John Fuller on Animal Planet's Must Love Cats.

Of course, Tama now has a Facebook page
