Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, November 01, 2011. A gathering storm will move through the Northern Rockies and be on the verge of moving into the Plains by the end of the day. The storm will strengthen considerably, but most of its precipitation will fall on Wednesday. Instead, expect increasing rain and high elevation snow from western Montana through Wyoming and northern Colorado throughout the day. While most of the precipitation in the Plains will wait until Wednesday, some rain mixed with snow will filter into Nebraska and South Dakota late in the afternoon and into the evening.
Meanwhile, another storm will move up the eastern seaboard, but this storm will not be close enough to produce any significant rain or snow. At most it will cause rough surf in coastal areas while also instigating some periods of breezy weather. A high pressure system over the eastern third of the country will keep the area dry.
Dry, but potentially windy, conditions are anticipated along the West Coast, while continuing dry weather is likely in the Southern Plains.
The Northeast will rise into the 40s and 50s, while the Southeast will see temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The Northern Plains will rise into the 40s and 50s, while the Southwest will see temperatures in the 60s, 70s, and some 80s. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Monday have ranged from a morning low of 14 degrees at Mt. Washington, N.H. to a high of 87 degrees at Chandler, Ariz.
